Tom Robertson

Veterinary Surgeon

Tom Robertson - Clinical Director
Tom Robertson MA VetMB CertVDI CertVC MRCVS Clinical Director

I grew up on a dairy farm and after reading my first James Herriot book at the age of 10, I decided I wanted to be a vet. I qualified from Cambridge University in 2001 and moved to Taverham from a large multi-discipline practice in Bedford in 2007. I gained my Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Diagnostic Imaging in 2007 and the RCVS Certificate in Cardiology in 2011.

I was awarded the Veterinary Cardiovascular Society Prize for achieving the best overall examination results during my certificate exams and I have since been awarded RCVS "Advanced Practitioner" status in both diagnostic imaging and cardiology. This reflects a commitment to remaining up to date and being regularly re-evaluated in both areas.

I love general practice and have particular interests in radiology, echocardiography, endoscopy, oncology and ultrasonography. I now spend much of my time accepting referral work from local practices. I am on the official Veterinary Cardiovascular Society list of official Veterinary Surgeons for both auscultation and Doppler Breed Heart Scoring.

I originally joined Roger Bannock and Guy Pitcher as a Director of Taverham Vets and now work as a Clinical Director at the Taverham Veterinary Hospital. I am very fortunate to love the work I do and the amazing team we have all helped to create at Taverham. Outside work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking, travelling and looking after a menagerie of pets!
